CHALLENGES
As a leading French industrial player in the fields of environmental services (waste, water) and energy (biomethane, CCUS, biofuels), Suez needed to strengthen its presence in Brussels. Faced with a rapidly changing European regulatory framework, Suez needed to anticipate the changes impacting its businesses while promoting its innovations. In addition, Suez needed to take part in the debate at EU level, by engaging directly with European decision-makers.
APPROACH
- Establishment of a precise monitoring on subjects of interest and drafting of policy and regulatory analysis notes.
- Identification of key political decision-makers and assistance in establishing contact.
- Preparation of positions (contributions to public consultations, position papers, etc.).
- Organization of a day of high-level institutional visits for the company’s executive board.
RESULTS
- Strengthening the institutional network in Brussels (European Commissioners’ offices, Directorates-General, MEPs, Permanent Representations).
- Broad dissemination of Suez’s policy messages.
- Raising Suez departments’ awareness of European issues and positioning them on scientific and funding opportunities.
