With fifteen years of experience in both media and African affairs, Nicolas runs Poinciana, a communications consultancy specialising in Africa. He contributes to some of Euros / Agency Africa’s various assignments, particularly with respect to press relations, institutional discourse and content.
A graduate of EM Lyon, Nicolas began his career as a financial journalist for Capital Finance, part of the Les Echos group. Having a special interest in Africa, where he spent parts of his youth, he quickly specialised in covering the continent’s economic news.
First editor-in-chief of two magazines dedicated to the topic — African Banker and African Business, both part of IC Publications group — Nicolas then joined Jeune Afrique Media Group, as editor-in-chief of the Economy & Finance section of the jeuneafrique.com website.
After several years in journalism, he turned to consulting and joined 35°Nord, a recently created communications agency with a focus on Africa.
After five years of very strong development, he created Poinciana in order to refocus on his core expertise: press relations, sensitive communication and institutional discourse.
